Pablo Paredes, born in 1966 in Santiago de Chile, studied classical music at the academy of music "Universidad Católica de Chile". In 1988 he received a scholarship to study jazz piano at the Academy of Music in Cologne, Germany under the guidance of Rainer Bruninghaus and John Taylor.
Paredes has performed at several Jazz festivals all over Europe and he has composed music for various projects. In 1996 he composed both, lyrics and music for soloist, choir and orchestra for a traditional south american mass, which was performed on the most important stages throughout Germany. (Berliner Philarmonie, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, and more). Together with the well-known german jazz pianist Joachim Kühn, he performed as a keyboarder in different productions as for example for the choreographer Jochen Ullrich at international festivals and for radio broadcasts. In June 2005 Pablo performed his own compositions (o. music) with big success at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Meanwhile he was invited by BBC to record at their own studios. Prizewinner of "FONDART" 2005 and 2006, the most important cultural prize a chilean artist can receive. He performs in different styles of music and has been involved in the production of over 50 CDs. Currently he works more and more as producer on his own studio.
Pablo Paredes worked with numerous established musicians like; Joachim Kuhn, Franco Ambrosetti, Jean-Paul Celea, Danny Gottlieb, Charlie Mariano, Michel Portal, Bobby Carcaces, Alfredo Marcucci, Jeff Berlin, Dominique Pifarely, Alex Acuña, Vincent Courtois, Demetrio Muñiz, Quique Sinesi, Thijs van Leer, Markus Stockhausen, Sheila Jordan, Leroy Jones and Cecil Payne.
